FAQ's

Why is caring for your skin so important?

Retaining moisture is the most important thing for the skin – it is the last organ to be fed and the most to be exposed to environmental pollutants. Gentle exfoliation once a week to remove dead skin cells will help pores breathe, and nourishing and hydrating natural products will cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night, without stripping essential moisture. As the core of your skincare regime, Seisho contains a unique and highly concentrated formula of hydrating active botanicals.

How does a good skin cleanser work?

A cleanser prevents dirt, sweat, make-up and bacteria from blocking pores and causing blemishes. It frees the skin of pollution and excess oil and helps maintain the skin’s barrier function. Nikken’s gentle foaming cleanser, Seisho Clear, is ideal for normal, combination and oily skin, but is still gentle enough for dry skin.

What is the purpose of a skin toner?

A toner restores the acidity of the protective top layer of skin. Too harsh, and the skin produces too much oil to compensate, but too gentle, and the skin becomes clogged. Seisho Revitalise is perfectly balanced to leave a delicate veil of protection on your skin.

Why is moisturising my skin so important?

A moisturiser is your first line of defence against ageing, which accelerates when the skin is dehydrated. Every type of skin – oily, dry or normal – can benefit from using a moisturiser. Skipping this step sends a message to your skin that it needs moisture. Since it cannot produce water, your skin will produce oil, making your problem worse. Seisho Replenish has been formulated to hydrate and nourish all skin types.

Does the amount of water I drink affect my skin?

Yes. The skin takes the strain when we become dehydrated. We spend a lifetime consuming dehydrating foods and drinks that need water to be digested and flushed out of our systems.
For glowing skin, reduce your consumption of these, and drink two litres of pure, naturally cleansed, optimised PiMag® water every day.

Is the food I eat reflected in the appearance of my skin?

It is important to consume plenty of fruit and raw or lightly cooked vegetables – foods that are rich in water, vitamins and minerals. A diet of convenience foods is lacking in these essential nutrients. For a supercharged serving of all-natural vitamins and minerals, look no further than Nikken’s ’green salad in a glass’, Jade GreenZymes®.

What sort of foods should I eat?

Avoid refined and processed foods that create an abundance of free radicals, which lead to premature ageing. Increase your consumption of antioxidant-rich foods with vitamins A, C and E to protect your body and skin from the negative effects of free radicals. The tasty blend of natural juices in Ciaga® is bursting with antioxidants.

Is there anything else I can do for my skin?

Dry-brush your skin before taking a bath, avoid washing excessively and use gentle soaps and deodorants. Expose your skin to fresh air whenever possible to let it breathe. Our Air Wellness™ Power5 Pro™ removes airborne contaminants that can irritate and overload your skin.
