Our mattress has a top cover woven of bamboo fiber. Bamboo is an amazing material: extremely strong but with a luxurious softness. It has a velvety texture that is not only comfortable but stands up impressively well to wear.
There are other advantages. Bamboo fibers have microscopic perforations that provide ventilation, so the material is supremely breathable. What’s more, it has natural hypoallergenic and antimicrobial properties.
This offers a superior alternative to some materials that use a chemical antibacterial agent. Bamboo fiber is as ecologically friendly as it is efficient.
Viscoelastic Technology
A custom fit every time you sleep
Selected sleep products, such as our mattresses, pads and pillows, feature a layer of viscoelastic foam. This space-age material is incomparably different from a conventional foam-rubber mattress or pillow.
Viscoelastic “memory foam” was developed for NASA astronauts and use in high-altitude/high-speed test flights. This special composition reacts to pressure and temperature, molding to body contours for a custom fit every time you sleep.
This provides you with support everywhere you are touching the surface. The open-celled material helps to reduce pressure points, to minimize tossing and turning.
Rubberthane Technology
A soothing massage effect
A natural way to relieve stress and discomfort is with massage. Several sleep products attempt to produce this sensation with a textured or raised egg-carton surface. But Nikken Rubberthane has unique, dual-density nodules that create a gentle massaging effect. Rubberthane is featured only in our Sleep System
It’s soothing, passive stimulation — no external power source is required. Every time you move in your sleep, the Rubberthane nodules help to ease tension.
